Kathleen wrote a really great read. I was transported to the time, way back then. It was gripping. When is her next book coming? I would recommend it to History buffs.
FINALLY, a book about some of the fascinating people who lived (and died) at Fort Adams. Hope Kathleen continues in her research to discover more stories.
Very nicely written. Kathleen's writing kept my attention. All interested in History would enjoy reading this book. I am a big fan of the author. Hope to read more from her.
I purchased this book at a local bookstore here in Newport. I was intrigued by the subject matter as I live at the Fort Adams military housing area. I walk past the cemetery everyday and always wonder who is buried there. Troost-Cramer's book is the answer. She tales fascinating tales of those who lived and died at the Fort. It reads like a murder mystery and a soap opera all in one. There are even some ghost tales at the end. The author is also a tour guide at the Fort and her love of the subject matter comes across with each line she wrote. I highly recommend this book to learn more about Fort Adams.
Having lived with the Fort literally in my back yard while stationed in Newport, I really didn't know much about it. After reading this book it shed a little light on such an amazing place.
